Baby Chloe's sweater

I am long overdue to record my knitting projects, so like many other knitters, I've chosen to blog about them.

Here is a sweater that I completed this weekend for Ben and Anne's baby girl, Chloe. Little Chloe should fit it by September, when the autumn season begins and she'll want to bundle up.

The pattern is from Debbie Bliss's Essential Baby and the yarn is Debbie Bliss's baby cashmerino. I typically enjoy knitting outside the box, but this time I used all suggested materials. My husband picked out the wooden buttons for his contribution to the gift.

I found the yarn very easy to work with and incredibly soft. The colour saturation is beautiful and there is a lovely sheen. The yarn, not surprisingly, requires washing in cold water and laying flat to dry, which isn't a method that new parents likely appreciate. The pattern is simple and classic. I will probably use it again, perhaps with superwash next time, since there are pregnancies abound in my circles.
